Now,I don't know about you peeps,but when I see something like this I'm so amazed at how God created the complexity called the body. I mean,some people can do stuff like this but others can't.
Wouldn't it be annoying if we were all as fast as Taylor Martinez? I mean,nobody would be unique or different in another way. He wouldn't be T-Magic. (Now that I don't want to imagine!) But,now that's beside the point.

All to say,can you believe that God formed the first body out of the dust off the ground?! Taylor Martinez sure doesn't look like he's been made out of dust,but he could make dust fly if he wanted too! Anyway,I thought it was just really cool at how God created the body. He is definitely an amazing,unfathomable,awesome,majestic God!! =)

No Draft Drama For Amukamara

No reason to toss and turn. Not when your name is Prince Amukamara and you sleeping in one of those plush hotels in New York City where they put 6 pillows on your bed. Not when you know they are going to call your name in the first round and your going to be walking down the aisle on a red carpet wearing fancy threads. Former Nebraska cornerback Prince Amukamara only has to sit back and relax. Amukamara is expected to be No.7 if the San Fransisco 49ers snatch him up. He worst case scenario would be No.13. But,even then Amuakamra would join forces with former All-American Husker Ndamukong Suh. So nothing could really be "bad" for Prince. Nobody see's him going lower then No.13. If you want to see the NFL draft its starts at 7:00PM tomorrow night.
The first and second round will be tomorrow,followed by the third and fourth round Friday at 5:00PM and then the the finish on Saturday night at 9:00Pm.

Spring Game. Segement 1: Highlights

The Nebraska Cornhusker football team had their annual Red-White spring game on Saturday,April 16th. It was a very,very close game. The Red team ended up winning by a field goal. Many promising things loom in the air for the Huskers,most notably Wide receiver Jamal Turner. This guy can catch balls,run very fast,and do sweet front flips into the end zone!! (Aka-Not something you would want to see happen in a real game. He [Turner] received a personal foul for over celebration because of it.) Turner will be very,very effective for the Huskers throughout his career at Nebraska. Another player whom I saw to be very effective as well,was Quarterback Brion Carnes. Carnes is the nephew of former famed Husker quarterback Tommie Frazier. If he turns out to be half of what his uncle was,Nebraska is in luck!! Carnes can throw,run the option,and make great fakes. He has a lot of things to work on,but with the help of OC Tim Beck,and a lot of hard work and practice,Brion could end up being a very talented young man.

Who said Alex Henery was irreplaceable!? (I did!!) New kickers Brett Maher and Ethan Davis have come to try and keep Nebraska's Specialists corps one of the best in the nation. They do have big shoes to fill though. Its not easy to succeed somebody like Alex Henery. From watching Maher and Davis,I saw a lot of power in their leg and feet. Most notably Maher who kicks dynamite!! He also made the winning field goal. Already getting started are we?(: Overall I see a lot of promise in both Maher and Davis. Nebraska is known to have one of the top Specialists corps in the nation,and I don't see why Maher and Davis can't keep it that way.(:

T-Magic,T-Mart,or T-shows promise? What should I call this young sophomore quarterback? Eh,I think I'll just stick with his birth name Taylor for now. What did I see out of Taylor on Saturday? Well,he didn't play a ton,but from what I see he shows promise. I can tell that he has matured,and progressed throughout the spring. He also has a little bit of that "T-Magic" speed back. He dosen't limp anymore when he is through playing,and he looks almost 100%. He missed a couple of passes,but ran the offense smoothly. Like I said he has matured,but I think it'll be a little while before we see the Taylor we saw at the beginning of last season. When you go through a humbling time like Taylor did after he got injured V.S Missouri,you are never quite the same.

Ah,now we get to one of my favorite parts. The running backs!! Nebraska is the "Running Back University." We have always been known to produce great running backs. This year Rex Burkhead leads a RB corp of talented but young running backs. RB coach Ron Brown will have more students when Aaron Green,and Amaur Abullah get here this summer. Burkhead didn't play a whole lot,but I can tell that he has matured greatly. Most notably in the speed department.We've always known that he fights until he can't carry anymore tacklers,but now all he has to do is run right through 'em!! Rex has a lot of potential and momentum,and I guarntee you he will be pushing the others for the job as the starter. Another running back I saw a lot out of was Tyler Legate. Legate shows speed,but he has the ability to cut though open gaps without anybody seeing him. The "Invisible Husker" is what I like to call him. Needless to say,he scored 2 touchdowns. If Legate keeps it up,he'll have every defense in the Big Ten,guessing.

That about wraps it up for this segment. I'll have much more in the near future. But, before I go I have something to tell you. Guess who won the Spring game? The Huskers!!

Taylor Martinez,Maturing,And Progressing

Well,we can stop talking badly about Martinez now. We can't officially call him "T-Magic" at this time,but we can sure call him a more mature Martinez than last season. What is Taylor thinking? We'll have a better idea in 2011,says Nebraska's starting quarterback from last season. "I'll start talking to the media more often now,"Martinez said after Mondays practice."Last year I wasn't really ready." "I was just a Freshmen last year." Starting to feel guilty Husker fan's? Well,what Taylor said is completely understandable. That was the problem with most everybody last year. Nobody understood him.In my opinion,nobody(including me)even really made a effort to understand him. After the first game,we were all just waiting to see what he had in store for us next Saturday. As as soon as Taylor went downhill after the Missouri game,
the way we saw him went downhill too. Jesus said this in Matthew 7:1-2:"Do not judge or you too will be judged." "For in the same way you judge others,you will be judged,and with the measure you use,it will be measured to you." I think we all judged Taylor to quickly. Even when we felt that we had a right to judge him because he looked like he was pouting on the sidelines and he made some unwise decisions in some critical games,we really didn't. Oh and by the way,all you who think or thought Taylor was leaving,he is not. "I never was going to leave,"Martinez said."My leaving and stuff,that was all rumors." Convinced? Good. Martinez's meteoric rise and ensuing struggles as a redshirt Freshmen have been well-documented. He secured the starting quarterback job coming out of Fall camp,and wowed the College Football world by running for 886 yards and 12 touchdowns in Nebraska's first 8 games. Well,unfortunately,that all came to an abrupt STOP,when Martinez injured his ankle V.S Missouri."After I hurt my ankle,pretty much everything went downhill from there,"Martinez said. "I probably re-injured my ankle 5 or 6 times during the rest of the season." "It was just tough on me. I couldn't really run and do want I wanted to." I sympathize with you Taylor. Now anyway. I didn't then. (Sorry!!) Footballs too often squirted out of Martinez grasp. Passes sailed awry. Sacks mounted. So did heavy criticism of a gimpy 19-year old boy,who only weeks before had captured the hearts and imaginations of a fervent fan base. Martinez said he ignored the media. "I got some criticism,"he said. "I've heard it from some players and coaches and other people around town,that they don't like me and stuff like that." "But,I don't really care what other people think about me." Good way to think Taylor. Martinez also said that he is more comfortable in his leadership role,but is quick to point out that he was a leader last year too. Maybe you guys didn't think I was but I was,"Martinez said. He also noted that he was careful to not overstep his boundaries with Senior quarterback Zac Lee on the team.
Martinez was "shocked" when former Offensive coordinator Shawn Watson left the program in February,but says he's excited about new offensive coordinator Tim Beck. "I was hoping that if Coach Watson left that someone would bring in the no-huddle offense just like my offense in high school,"Martinez stated. And that,Taylor said,is the direction Beck is taking this offense. Not as much huddle. More up-tempo. "It fits me pretty well,"he said. Especially when it comes to freedom. "This time I can actually pick a play,what I want,"Martinez said. "Last year I didn't really have the freedom to do that." "Like,if the play was called,I had to run it. Now,Martinez said,he has the green light to change a play at the line of scrimmage. Junior Wide receiver Tim Marlow has noticed that Taylor is doing better at taking care of the ball as well. "He's really securing the ball more,"Marlowe said. "I know last year he had some fumble problems." "He's really taking care of the ball and just making better decisions overall." Martinez said he is not quite 100% yet. When he runs certain plays he stills feels a little sting in his ankle. But,by summer he should be back to the old Taylor Martinez we once knew. Of course there is no guarantee that Taylor will regain his starting spot. Granted,Junior Cody Green and the 3 other Freshmen will be pushing and pulling at Taylor for the job. But,the stride Martinez is making both on and off the field this Spring,are encouraging. "I think Taylor is a great kid,truthfully.Marlowe said."I think sometimes he can be misinterpreted." "We all love him and we hope he is hear to stay." Believe me,we Huskers fan's love him too.

Shockers Hand Huskers Werse Loss Of The Season

They didn't advance to the 2nd round of the Big 12 tournament. They didn't advance to the 2nd round of the National Invitation Tournament either. Yes,that's right Husker basketball fan's,the Nebraska Men's basketball team ended their season with a 76-49 blowout from the Wichita State Shockers. The Huskers just couldn't get much going. They made a lot of mental mistakes from the get-go. Senior Lance Jeter led the Huskers with 12 points. The Shockers had a 10-0 lead early in the game. Nebraska was never ahead of them. They trailed the entire game. Going into the locker room didn't help. The Huskers put up little if any resistance in the 2nd half. To say that the Huskers looked uninterested and unmotivated may be too harsh,if not for so much proof. The Shockers lead grew to 54-25,and then 67-39. Quit? That wouldn't be fair to Senior Lance Jeter,who was the only Husker on that court that looked like he had some type of motivation. Or to Caleb Walker,who outran a Shocker 50 feet to grab a loose ball,saving it from going out of bounds and tossing it to Senior Drake Beranek,who made a lay-up. But,that,unfortunately,wasn't how the rest of the game went. It was the basketball version of the Holiday Bowl. The Huskers ended their season on a sour note. But,we would like to thank the following Husker Seniors for giving everything they had to help make Nebraska a better basketball program:Lance Jeter,Drake Beranek,Bo Spencer,and Matt Karn. We wish them Gods greatest blessings in their future endeavors.
This team is going to have a long offseason. (Sigh*) A very,VERY long offseason.
