Now,if there's one thing you probably don't know about Nebraska's junior running back,Rex Burkhead, its this:He's a pretty quiet guy on and off the field. "Quiet, but effective,"Nebraska running back coach Ron Brown told the media. Yea,that sums Burkhead up pretty well.
You say:"How can he lead this young group of running backs if he's as quiet as everybody says he is?" Well, let me tell you how. :) Burkhead may be a quiet guy,but that doesn't keep him from doing his job. "He's a leader,"Ron Brown said. "You can have strong, vocal leaders and you can have quiet, strong leaders." "Rex is silent, but strong." Indeed. Everyday Burkhead just tells his group to be themselves, play hard and to the best of their ability for Christ, and most importantly, have fun. Now,lets get this clear. Burkheads not some guy who doesn't talk to people unless he has too or isilicates himself from people. He'll carry a conversation with you like any other person. The thing you have to understand,is that,he doesn't have to talk to show who he is,or what he wants to do. Its his attitude and his character that reflects off of him like a ray of sunlight reflects off of a mirror. "He has a passion to do all things for the glory of Christ Jesus, and that's what makes him the player he is,"Brown stated. So,Burkhead isn't just a strong and silent leader,he's a strong and silent follower,of the greatest Leader ever. :)
